"Ed Goldfarb, Paul Gentry, Paul A. Fox, LaVada Torzewski and Dan
Swan" (August 2004)
December
27, 2004
Azimuth lost Paul A. Fox, our friend, producer and guitar player on December
10th to an auto accident. Paul put his
heart and soul into our music and his productions on our next album and we
are all crushed, yet we look ahead as His vision shall not cease. We set up a page on our website to Paul’s
work at LINK. This tragedy only makes us more determined
to finish the “Mystery of Your Love” CD and to have it reach the pinnacle
both the Lord and Paul would expect.
Paul plays guitar on much of our album and produced many tracks,
including the title track. We can
promise you that our music will be on the national radio airways and His
music will live on!!!
ELEVATOR REACHED THE TOP FLOOR!!!! "Elevator's
Gone" recently hit #1 on the popular Uncle Samoo's
Zoo Radio Show which is hosted by WITR FM in Rochester,
New York.
Many popular bands were launched from this Indie
Christian Show including "Jars of Clay." We are currently #42
on their charts with the new song Purified!
Additionally,
the Paul Fox produced "Son of Thunder" was aired on December 19th
and the show was dedicated to our late great friend! This show is
syndicated via internet around the world and airs Sunday Nights 7 PM to Midnight
(eastern). Join the webcast ... www.thelivingrock.com! If you like our
music, please write Pastor Samme at sammep@aol.com and encourage them to keep
playing Azimuth!!
MYSTERY
ALBUM! We have six songs
in works with our producer, Ed Goldfarb for next year. Some of the songs are Pop/Praise in nature
and our new album will be of great assistance in promotion for play in
churches. We like to call our next
album our “glorified demo” for the church, but the production levels are at a
label level thanks to Ed and the former works of Paul Fox. To make our next album a greatest hits kind
of thing with nearly all LaVada lead vocals we will
add 2 or 3 tracks from our Alpha and Omega album. This may very well be our last Pop album so
we want to make it count. To keep an
eye out for new productions please save our page at LINK.
Christmas! We were blessed to have written a couple of
new Christmas songs, “Do You Know It’s Christmas” and “Shepherd’s Song” this
year with Rhesa Siregar, Elton
Smith and Larry Holder and can be found at SOP. Maybe a bit late for this year, but next
year is a different story so keep us in mind.
Look for our 2002 song “Christmas Morning” too. Azimuth is planning to follow-up our Mystery
of Your Love CD with a Christmas EP as our next project.
Praise
and Worship!
We were also quite blessed to have written a song some already
consider a “sure future national phenomenon” with “Adoration”. We have been making stabs at building the
perfect P/W song for years and feel we may have accomplished such with the
assistance of the wonderful lyricist Rick Founds, and music writers, Rhesa Siregar, Paul Gentry and
Elton Smith. There is a very rough
demo recording of the song on SOP
and Azimuth will record it with new instrumentation on the 2005 album.
Finely. As Azimuth reaches its 20th year as a
ministry next year we have many things to feel grateful for. Even as a garage band performing in Youth
Authorities and Prisons like “Soledad”
in California
in the mid 80’s we helped spread His word and were able to share “new
decision” times. We are a cyber band
now, but there is a unmistakable momentum we cannot ignore. For instance, our first four completed
songs for our new album have already had radio play and we haven’t even
released the album yet! Like beloved Paul
A. Fox, Azimuth had and still has a purpose we plan on pursuing for His sake,
not our own. We ask for your prayers
and support this coming year as we brace ourselves for His ministry to the nation
and to the world.
Blessings,
Paul Gentry on behalf of Azimuth
